With JC Taylor, do you have to prove you have a garage to keep the car in....?
they say it had to be garaged only and if you had a garage other than at your house you had to list the address. i only had to send them two pics of the car. one from the front and one from the side. i have a garage so that wasn't an issue with me but as dwight said you better have one available. never know if you might be the one they decide to check on. as far as i know most of the classic insurance companies required the cars to be garaged.

Generally, the low rates for collector cars are based on the fact that they are exposed to less risk, i.e. they are generally garaged.  Second, the agreed value is subject to depreciation if the car is exposed to weather and the elements.  You could ask and possibly an insurer might do it at a higher rate or on different terms without a garage.

I got some good looking quotes down in Carlisle last summer. Unlimited miles, all the pleasure rides you want,  just have to have another car for daily use. Then I got home and read all the fine print. NO ERRANDS. So I called. If we go to a show or out for a ride it's ok to stop for a bite to eat, but don't stop at the market for a loaf of bread on the way home. If anything happens to that car in the parking lot, you will NOT be covered, Sir. That's the answer I got. Make sure you ask all the right questions for your intended use of your car.  Jeffm2008-02-11 17:46:37

Phil,
I have Classic Auto Insurance. I have not had any claims with them. They have always been very cooperative when I wanted to increase my agreed value. I think it is underwrited by INFINITY. (not at home so not 100% sure). Hope this helps.
