I agree, the top of the line car thiefs knows what they are doing and no alarm will stop them. I got top of the range security system in my 79, I know it won't propably stop the thugs from stealing the car, but at least it gives me a huge insurance discount. I have fuel cut off, spark cut off, 3 kill switches, armor films in all class etc...

The armor film is a clear film which is installed on the bare class. It won't brake into pieces even if the window cracks, so the window stays in one piece and keeps the burglar from getting inside the car...

I agree with 68 Roadster alarms are useless. I used to repo cars in NYC for many years. Drove hundreds of them throught the city and all boroughs with the alarms blaring. Day, night, early morning never once got stopped by police.
Best bet is a disabling device like an electrical or fuel cutoff switch. Takes too long to find them. Only way to beat that is with a tow truck. A good operator can get the vehicle up in the air and gone from a city parking space in under 2 minutes. Got caught once or twice doing that.

I'll agree with red70vete, the best antiftheft system is the most unorthodox homemade system. The longer it takes to figure out the less likely you will lose your C3. Personally, I have chosen to disable the ignition. Hopefully, a thief will get digusted and walk away when the car cranks but doesn't start.
But, if they show up with a tow truck, you are pretty much out of luck because it doesn't matter if they can drive it or not.
Thanks for your input.
Rick.
