I'll tell ya this, I've owned a TON of cars, I also got a 67 ragtop last year.. The 81 is one of the most rewarding cars I've owned. Im in my 3rd summer with the car and the thought of trade never popped up and that says alot.. Its not the fastest BUT its a joy to drive and with some easy mods she is respectable... Im into mine at about 22.5k after everything and no regrets, no second thoughts.. The car your looking at sounds like a fair deal... If your buying the car looking for appriciation or even to break even, a Vette maynot be the ride.. Buy it because you love it..

Benilli 22, rumor has it that you bought yourself a 81 vette. Is it true.

YIKES...the rumor mill is alive and well on C3 Registry. The financial part of the deal has been struck. Saturday morning the car goes on the lift for inspection of the undercarriage. If that checks out, then it is off to the notary to handle the paperwork. I have a six car garage, so I'll put the car to bed for the week because we are expecting northeaster storm this weekend in PA. The plan for next week is go to PennDOT and get an antique license. In PA, any car older than 25 years and out of production is eligible for antique license. Sounds like I have a busy week ahead. Not sure where I'll find the time to do my "real work job." Dave

The deal is struck. I have my "new" 81 Vette in the stable. Next quesion: Is this a tail of two best days...the day I buy it and the day I sell it? Raising my glass and hope not. Thanks for the advice from all who weighed in. I'll send a picture as soon as I figure out how to attach one.
