I have a 1982 Corvette that I bought in the late 1990's. It was in poor condition when I bought it. I made some repairs to get it on the road. I drove it for about 3 years, making repairs to keep it running, but no major or restore type repairs. I did paint it and replaced the seat covers and carpet. When I got married, I put it in storage (sort of, it was a barn.) It sat there 20+ years. Most of you guys know what I am about to say, but it needs to be said anyway. While parked in the barn, rats devoured much of the wiring, vacuum lines, wiper fluid lines, spark plug wires, and several plastic parts. Although I still own the property where it was kept, I moved to a different part of the state (Oklahoma) and just visited the other place to check up on things on occasion. This past week, I went to the old place and loaded the Vette on a trailer and brought it to my current home. I am planning on repairing and replacing all the damaged wires, lines and parts to get it on the road again. Here's where I am looking for help.

I would like to find some owners of late C3's who live in the south Oklahoma/north Texas area who might allow me to come by and look at their cars (under the hood) so I can see and duplicate what is damaged and missing on my '82. '81-'82 models would probably be best, especially since the '82 has the cross-fire injection. Any help on this is appreciated.

Bob - good on ya for working on bringing the '82 back to life...!!! 👍
There's a couple of places where you can look for members who are in your "neighborhood". Look on the Members dropdown menu list for:
  • Member Search by State/Country (there's over 1,100 members in Texas)
  • Realtime Member Map shows a bunch of members around the DFW, Austin and Houston areas

If you don't already have one, a good reference tool to have is an Assembly Instruction Manual (AIM) for '82 in either print or digital format. eBay usually has some listed.
Best of luck with the project...!!!

Thanks, Norsky, I'll look at the members list. I really don't want to start cold-calling or DMing people out of the blue. I'll wait for some responses before doing that. With the said, I am more than willing to trailer my car down to anyone's location to have some comparison and suggestions. It would also be a great way to make some new acquaintances. No doubt that some of them are far more knowledgeable than I am on a lot of this stuff.

Also, I'll look into the AIM's you mentioned.
