Don't know about this one but a friend of mine has an '80 conversion that is nice and was well done. Need better pics and should certainly see in person. Some conversions are real chop jobs.

I've seen a couple and liked the look. They take an older model vert tub, set it down on the 80 chassy / drivetrain an change out the bumpers & interior. There is a fellow still makin these today that I have info on somewhere that Gurtz got for me.
I agree with Tim those are some pretty crappy pics and more info is necessary. Price seems very resonable if it is in good shape though.

Vette(s): Silver 1974 Convertible - L82 4 speed
Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses.
2008 Jetstream Blue Convertible
This is the car I have wanted!!! Best of both worlds - 80 style body with a drop top!!!
I agree though, the pix aren't very good. I have seen one of these in person once and a few on e-bay. If the car is any good, that is a good price. I have heard various stories on how these came about. One is that a group of 10-20 were made by a specialty conversion shop and they turned out very nice.
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

I'd be skeptical just from the wording of the ad. The ones who sell vettes and have something to hide talk in general terms, such as "Have been told this car was a conversion." Just a tiny research will tell you that it is. Be very skeptical. Also, couldn't he move it outside so at least the poles were out of the way? Sorry to be a "glass half empty" guy, just make sure you inspect it closely. There are conversions out there that are very well done, so anything's possible.
