Vette(s): 1978 25 anniversary blue on blue with T-tops.
I just bought a 78 within the last month. 6k is a good price. I paid 9.5. I have started to do a few things and I am by no means a gearhead either. I think that it is a good starting point. poarts seem to be relatively cheap and it is so far easy to work on. good luck

Thanks everyone. It keeps getting better. I keep finding excuses to drive it. The wife loves all the trips to the store I am making. Wink

dsireme-Thanks, I love the pinstriping too, makes it even more unique. Good luck with your search!Geek

williammoore2-Cool!! Congrats to you as well!! Sounds like we are two peas in a pod.Cool

greypoupon-The name Mad Mick is an old nickname. I am Irish (Mick) and used to be quite a hellion, kinda crazy (Mad), so they called me Mad Mick and it has stuck. And I like the number 11. Big%20smile

madmick11,
I was looking at the first photos (may 20th.) vs. the ones you posted yesterday. I noticed the glass tops on it now.
Did they come with it or did you buy them separately?

ENJOY YOUR CORVETTE!

The glass top looks like Eckler's one piece acrylic top to me.

When I showed up there was a different top on than the one I had seen in the pics. In the documentation folder that I got there is a sheet of Installation Instructions for the "Astro I" made by Thompson Astro Tops. It is acrylic and tinted, a nice compromise between the stock tops and going topless. Lets in quite a bit of sun, but without all the wind. Personally, I like the wind. Approve But it is a very cool option nonetheless.

Congrats! Looks very cool. I know the feeling of getting that first Vette, I got mine in Nov. 2007, what a great feeling having a C3 Vette. I found out that the smile won't go away so get used to it. Enjoy it but don't let your wife hear you saying "I love you" to it.LOLYou did find the right place here, these people are great here.Big%20smile

P.S. Do what I did, go online and get every free Corvette parts catalog sent to you, I think I got about a dozen now.

Looks like you found yourself a nice '78. You look pretty happy there. I love mine. The wife gets a little jelious at times. If she can't find me, she knows where to look - the garage. Got mine in April of '07 and the thrill hasn't worn off yet.
