Why does my 76 only have a drivers side, side mirror? Was that an option the year the car was produced?

Vette(s): 1972 LT-1 convertible with factory air. 2017 Black Rose Grand Sport M7 convertible.

Yes, chrome mirror cars only came with a driver's side.  Passenger side was a dealer installed option.

Many owners have added it on their own.

I got mine from dealer parts.  You can probably still get one from the aftermarket.

Yes, it was an option in '76, when I bought mine new.

It didn't cost that much, but since other cars didn't come with them in '76, I didn't bother.

Should have though, I miss right hand mirrors now.

If you decide to get a right hand mirror in the aftermarket, make sure it matches your existing driver side mirror as sometime in the mid-70s they made a shape change to the mirror.
