Previously owned: 1969 427, 390hp, 4sp, Riverside Gold coupe, factory side exhaust
Really enjoyed the video on the 72 LT1. However, in the 43 years that I have driven my 72, I have never considered the door handle pull a poor design or problem. What we don't know won't hurt us.
After thinking about this for a while, I remember my 69 door handle pull did break and I had to get a new one. I guess he's right. He is thinking as a 21st Century engineer.
Still really enjoyed the video.

Dean - Glad you enjoyed the video. I thought it was interesting how he pointed problems out as well. I am always amazed at how crude the cars were built back in the day. I somtimes look at the way things were done on my 73 and say what were they thinking but I have to remind myself that technology had not progressed in the auto industry like it has in the last 20 years with the introduction of all the cool things that we have available for designing things today.

I agree, Tom. In 1973 I thought my 72 was cutting edge technology. Didn't realize the center gauge cluster was too small. I thought it was pretty cool. Still not sure what he was talking about in reference to the steering wheel and column. Pretty funny today. Great video and I love the sound of that LT1 engine.
