1970 LT-1 Vert...with A/C?????

I just ran into a guy at a local swap meet that insists his Vette is a 1970 LT-1 with air. Before he started talking to me I said "Hey, nice '72"...the LT-1 and A/C led me to say this. He looked at me like I was an idiot and told me with total conviction that it is one of three '70's like this. Then I noticed the console tag that reads 330HP ('71). Any true Corvette guy with an LT-1 knows that the '70 had 370HP and that A/C was not available until 1972. I think this guy was screwed by someone a litle more savvy than him when it comes to Corvettes.

Sounds like the guy is seriously misinformed and doesn't want to believe it, or dishonest. You're right about a/c not being available on LT-1's until '72, and then they had a low red line to keep from throwing the belt.

It's always possible that if this car is a genuine LT-1, which doesn't sound likely from the info you've provided, that someone could have added a/c.

I was crusin e-bay parts one night and came across someone selling a Road and Track road test artical on a 73 Lt-1 dated 1973, I e-mailed him back "no such thing," he e-mailed me back,"tell that to Road an Track", the photo of the artical did say 73 LT-1, a case of "dumb and dumber"

has anyone ever seen a '69 LT-1?? The assembly manuals do list it as being an option in '69 even though the first official year was 1970.

also my old owners manual listed a 69 lt-1..

never seen one and never heard of one though..

The only known '69 LT-1 corvette was a coupe sold by Clippenger Chevrolet in Covina, CA.

the black book I have lists ac as option c60 and put in 6659 cars in 1970. you are right on the 370 hp rating too
