Please excuse my ingnorance with this question - im only newish to C3's
Im in the process of buying a c3 big block and have learnt all about the different hp ratings from from 71-72'..
My question is, in real on road terms does say a 69 427 v's a 72 454 REALLY feel any different as far as overall power is concerned?

The stock '72 454's are rated at 270hp
the stock '69 427's are rated at 390, 400 and 430 hp depending on various options.
Why the drop? emissions laws and MPG laws here in the US.
