I am thinking of installing 18" wheels on the front and 20" wheels on the back of my 1969. Anybody ever do this? If so what back spacing did you use? My car is totally stock.

Browse through the C3 Handling Components forum.  There are some threads discussing wheel/tire combinations in there.  You may have to go back several pages to find them but they're there.

I put 17 X 8 on  the front and 17 x 9 on the back with 4 1/2 back spacing on my 78. I used Cragar SS wheels for an updated yet classic look. I then wrapped BF Goodrich KDW G-Force tires on them. I love it!

Never seen one with 19 or 20 inch rims. I bet it would look great!

4 1/2 back spacing seems to be the answer. What size tires did you use on your 78?

245/457R17 95Y on the front

and

275/407R17 98Y on the rear

The reason I went with that tire combination is because it made both tires the same height!

I hope this helps!
4 1/2 back spacing seems to be the answer. What size tires did you use on your 78?
except on the front you need to be very careful on a 69 and not so much on a 78

the 78 has more room in the front fender wells.

I would use 8" with 4" backspacing on the front of a 69..

i know this works...  4.5 will probably rub

with the rear you can get away with alot more..

and a 4.5 is a good idea to keep the tire away from the end of the leaf spring.

Ok so 8" wide and 4" backspace on the front and rear will work on my 69 using 18" or 20" wheels? Do I have that correct? Thanks Again
