Wow, I'm impressed! I dig watching a guy work on a vette with little room, and pull it off! It's just such a cool thing! At least to me because it gives me a chance to watch and learn!

Vette(s): 1979 Black coupe. 11256 original, documented, miles on it when I bought it in April of 2000. It now has 13100 on it. Oyster interior, like new. Everything original, everything works, except the clock. Paint has a couple of minor flaws.
There is another way to remove a broken stud. If it is a 3/8 bolt, you get a 5/16 flat washer, and weld it to the stud, through the hole in the washer. Then weld a 5/16 in hex nut to the washer. Then carefully back out the stud by unscrewing the nut with a 5/16 wrench. Be very careful, because there isn't very much weld on the stud...
At the plant where I used to work, we did this very often, with almost 100% success.
You need a little more room than there was on the side of the engine where the fuel pump is though.

I dunno, something about welding near a fuel pump makes me kinda nervous.
