I am looking into changing my auto for a nice 5-speed... i already have the front of the car apart and I am going to pull the engine so.....

I thought it would be a great time to buy a 5-speed....

so I see two places out there so far...

srj,jr here... well, i got my 5 speed through keisler, and was pleased with their product,  though i'm sure they've improved it somewhat from the 4 years ago when i got mine... i've also gotten a part or two from classicchevy5speed as well.. and they also were very informative and helpful.  As for a couple others on here that i've talked with that did the 5 speed conversion, they went through kiesler and were also pleased with their service... they are both the 'same' transmission, tremmec, soo, probably just a flip of the coin for you to decide ... oops, my mistake, it wasnt classicchevy5speed i did business with, it was chevy5speed, place out of Ohio that was a sister company of Forte Parts (in Mass, Boston area i believe) they've been "acquired" by keisler...stingrayjim2008-06-29 23:10:01

I got mine from Keisler several years ago too. Looks like I have had mine installed since 10/31/03 according to my records. It has been trouble free for me. Just a little setup getting the angles of the yokes right but other than that nothing. I am happy with my 5 speed.

If you're not in a hurry and anywhere near Carlisle, PA you should be able to get a gooood deal there during "Corvettes at Carlisle". I got mine there and was real happy with it. The package includes everything you should need and they ship it right to your door, at least they did then. Good luck.
