Vette(s): 1979, Targa Blue (72 Color), Pace Car rear spoiler, L88 hood, Dark blue factory interior, 525HP 406, HD 700R4, 370 gears,Steeroids, composite rear spring, TT IIs wrapped in T/A Radials.
T - sorry to hear about what happened, but like the other have mentioned, the important thing is that you and the Mrs are ok. And the Vette is ok also. Assuming you keep the Vette outside - that's a tough hobby to keep in an area where you've got &^$%&) idiots like that.Angry I'd gladly take to arms with you if we were in the same neighborhood!!
 
Anyway, give the wife a hug and a kiss and talk to the car while you work on her - chicken soup for a close call....Smile

Joel mentioned the lug nuts being not longer than the wheel is thick with alloy straight shoulder type nuts, the other thing to remember with those type is that they MUST have a spring washer with them.  I had a friend once (no, he didn't kill himself but almost) who broke two washers and decided to take them all out of one wheel to make them all the same thinking the two missing ones would put the wheel off balance.  Well you guessed it, the wheel overtook him on a dirt road.
