I'm looking for an original '69 Q Jet carb (#709202). What should I expect to pay for one? Are they hard to find?
Thanks,
Matt

I've seen good, rebuildable Q-Jets go for as little as $25-$75, depending on which exact model number and specific application. Rebuilt ones go for $175 to several hundred dollars higher depending on the source.
I had mine rebuilt locally by a shop that knows their stuff...they charged $40 labor plus parts...it ran me a total of about $165 (floats, different size jets, etc.) It made a huge difference.

You may laugh, but I would go to AutoZone and get a Holley rebuilt one. It will be the correct number and my experience with them is very good. Do not get the Champion rebuilt or the other, I forget the name. Get the rebuilt by Holley one.

only one problem with this.. you may have to go back two or three times to get one that hasnt sit on a shelf and dried up all the gaskets..
sometimes you get lucky and the first one works.. sometimes not..
this is a decent low cost option... but i prefer to rebuild my own carbs.. AND I might even enjoy Quadrajunks once Ken publishes his tips and tricks/instructions
btw Mattk bought the ebay one from the link above...

It's been some years, but when I worked in an auto shop, I rarely if ever saw an assembly line rebuilt carburetor worth a damn. They were all troublesome. I would always prefer to have my own carb rebuilt by someone who knows what he was doing. There are some very good carb rebuilders, but I wouldn't touch an off the shelf rebuilt.

In most cases I would agree. I have used off-the-shelf from most of the parts stores. In my experience the rebuilt-by-Holley is far and away above the others. I have had several that didn't even require mixture adjustment. I have never had to return one. Just take it out of the box, bolt it on and go. If you already had a core, then I would recommend the Carburetor Shop in Ontario CA. I can rebuild just about anything but an automatic transmission and a Quadrabog carburetor. Don't know why, but I have had no luck doing it myself. Just my .02
