The dump truck cam profile probably made that thing pull like a banchee out of the hole.  How was the top end?

A lot of people don't know but an in line 6 is the most efficient design as far as torque application is concerned.

With the TBI that would be a very interesting machine.  WHich TBI set up did you use?

That's another "yeah... but". Before it replaced the Blue Flame 235, I cammed the 292 up with a high lift long duration cam and lost my bottom end grunt. I leave @ 2300 RPM against a 2000 RPM stall converter for best ET. (10.26 in the 1/8 @72 MPH)

All the good stuff comes in thru an early ('92) Holley Pro-Jection 2-bbl. TBI unit sitting on a Clifford 4-bbl. intake. The smelly stuff goes out thru Jet-Hot coated Clifford headers and a pair of Walker Dyno-Max turbo mufflers. Hence "herd of hornets"! I know you are one of the few left who knows what a warmed-over I-6 sounds like with a split exh. manifold.

Hey Dave and Ken, thanx very much for help. I didn't had time yet to test it further but i ment indeed 2 V or 3 V . I was measuring it with my dwell-meter witch is not detailed in the Volt scale. I will do it again with a precise meter and come back with results.

The 9 V dropping to 2 à 3 V i measured over the 2 primary connections on the coil.So that is voltage over the breaker points.

I will check also + coil and - car ground , - breakerpoints and + battery.Curious how many V's i will have than.

This evening i have a neigbour factory visit and reception.Do you believe i would prefer go playing with Volts , rev's and Ohm's ?

The '59 is a blast. It turns more heads than a Ferrari. Only problem is that it drives EXACTLY like a 1959 Chev without power steering or brakes!!

I'm thinking of selling it... Too many moving parts to maintain.

I can relate to that.  Those old manual steering, brake cars took some real muscleing around.  Handling ws awful.  Some say they don't build them like the used to.  There is a good reason for that! 

My old 64 Comet was all manual.  I used to drive it around with one arm around my girlfriend.  Until she drove it once and almost put in someones front yard when she tried to make the first corner.  After that it was two hand driving.  Guess I goofed.  But not too much, in June it will be 31 years from when we said our vows.

But those old cars are still fun.

I used to have a "Necker-Knob" on the '59 for that exact purpose until it broke off making the U-turn to the return road at the dragstrip! The stub bloodied up my arm on the wheel springback.

   Ouch!

seems to me as those cars where "sheeps" ..... with "wolf" engines !

It was born as a very basic sheep with a lamb engine. 235 cu. in.(3.8 litre)I-6, about 100 HP with a 2-speed automatic......
