I have a 70 vette. The other day I was revving the engine with the hood open. When the engine would get to higher rpms the fan would look like it was wobbling. I shut it off and i can wiggle the pully alittle. It does not leak. Is my water pump shot? I do not drive this car, I just show it. Should I replace th pump? I am afraid it will throw the fan off and damage the car. Or will the pump start to leak first, Or is it normal.

Vette(s): 1968 convertible; 1980 L-82. Numbers match on both.
It is NOT normal. You've got a bearing which going or already gone. I agree with 4Webers: replace the water pump. If it's the original pump and you are concerned with matching numbers, have your pump rebuilt.
