Zip's talked to their service dept. and called me back this morning. They told me to loosen the tensioner, which I've done, remove the water pump pulley and put the belt and pulley back on together. sounds like a heck of a deal, but, would explain why I had to cut the original belt off and why the belt was original in the first place. Are all the big blocks, and small blocks for that matter, this way? I wonder why none of this is addressed in any service manuals. I guess were just supposed to know this..................

I went through the same thing about a year ago. I said there's no way this will fit, then a friend told what I had to do to get it on. It's a lot of trouble just to change a belt. I lost a lot of knuckle skin also on this job. Didn't realize how sharp my fan blades were. Hope it goes on smoothly for ya.
