Can anyone tell me the correct sequence to torque down the eight bolts that hold down the intake on vortec heads? I believe that it takes eleven ft. lbs. of torque, but I can't find the sequence. Thanks, Tom

Start at the center on one side, and go outward in a circular pattern, back and forth to both sides.
Run them down, the torque them. Then recheck the torque.

Thanks Ken. All my books are too old to have the pattern. Tom

Tom,
Make sure you use a little bit of "loc-tite"
on your manifold bolts. GM recommends this due to the low torque on the bolts. They could back off leaving you with a vacuum or coolant leak.

Good call Sarge. Just make sure to use the medium or light hold locktite. The mean stuff requires heat to get it back off.
