dunno if this is the right forum to put this question but anyway.. here it comes:
can i paint my valve covers with a standard car paint or will it get burned off.. i know with smaller 4 cylinder cars it will last.. but on a v8??
i don't like the vht black.. not glossy enough :)

I doubt if standard automotive body paint would hold up to the underhood temps. If you don't like VHT engine paints, try Eastwood and see if they have what you're looking for.

I painted mine with off the shelf engine paint 3 years ago, still look good. If you want them to be nearly bullet proof get them powdercoated.

If I were you I'd look in the Yellow Pages and find someone in your area who can Powdercoat them for you, you'll prolly never need to paint them again after that

The paint needs to be High temp engine paint/enamel - Must be high
