Vette(s): 1976 Silver/Firethorn. L48, 4spd. Original 2 bolt, vortec heads, 9.4:1 CR, Speed Pro Cam: 224/224@0.050, 112 LSA, Eagle Steel Crank.
In my last post, "preliminary alignment" (http://goo.gl/D3cIq), I got some good advice from Joel.  I also found this article from Jim Shea to be useful for what I was doing:

Jim Shea is a retired GM engineer that actually worked on Saginaw steering systems and related for a bunch of different cars, but specifically C3's. He has a bunch of papers posted on the net - just Google, "Jim Shea Steering Papers" or "Jim Shea Corvette Steering" and the site will come up. I've posted this info before, but thought it would be a good time to remind folks of this useful resource.  Since I am an engineer myself I enjoy reading about some of the engineering and design that went into our cars back in the 60's and 70's.  But there is also a wealth of practical how-to kind of knowledge in these papers.   Enjoy!

Thanks for posting.  I love reading this stuff.  It's nice to know that these cars were not just "thrown together".
