upper ball joint and coild spring

can someone please give me a sanity check on this. I made the mistake of reading my manuals and now I'm confused.
 
Top of coil spring????
 
Space between upper ball joint and spindle seems a bit big. Torq'd to 50#'s these are the cheap ones not correct.

I am not sure on the spring other than a comment on the lower A arm pocket. When installing the spring into the lower A arm pocket hold the end of the spring just short of the drain hole.
 
Ball joint looks OK based on where the cotter pin sits in the castle nut. You did say they were aftermarket ball joints so the look may be different.
 
Maybe some one else can give a more different answer.

Not sure what the question is on the spring either! The top of the spring will have the coils a little closer together than the bottom, if that's what you need to know.
The ball-joint looks just like you said it is..."these are the cheap ones"
Not that they aren't any good, just that they will not look the same. If the nut tightened up nicely, you're probably good to go. I'd sure want to check them again after driving a few miles, tho.
