I remember someone is working on making a coil over set up for the rear suspension. Something else to think about.

I have two C3s - One (1982) I drive everyday (literally) and the other (1980) is the fun toy. What I'm trying to research is making the 1982 a smooth ride. Currently its just too blang
rough. If I fill the tank and get my little brother (380 lbs) to ride with me its a bit smoother. oh yes, at 70 mph she rides pretty good.

So I need ideas on how to soften the ride - make the ride a little easier on the body.
Any idea?

Hi Tommy, My 82 stock was a bit hard with the old tires on it. I replaced them this past summer with Firestone Indy 500s and the ride is a lot better. The gas mileage even went up a little. How old are your tires? The rest of the car is original.

Nobody ever waves when I'm driving the Explorer.

I've got 255/60/15 BFG's on all corners. I know little about tires. Would changing tires make that much of a difference? The tires are wearing evenly, She brakes straight and smooth. I just wish She rode a LOT smoother. My 1980 has a firm ride - but nothing like Ruby (1982). BTW - I know what you mean about getting the waves from fans. My favorite is the little kids holding Dad's hand and scream Daddy, Daddy look at that car - thats what I want when I grow up. It always happens when I have someone riding with me too.

Eurodesk here; And the answer to you questions are: Yes and Yes, I have the works on my C3, and to me it rides as good as my C5. The trip to Carson City in 2007 may a believer out of me. Well worth the money.
