tru-ray wire wheels

Just curious if anyone knows about 'Tru-ray' wheels. They were on my vette when I bought it and I can't find any info on the brand. The center caps have the crossed flags emblem (almost identical to the corvette crossed flag emblem) and "Tru-ray" stamped on them. The wheels themselves are 15" wire spokes.
Any info would be appreciated. I'm real curious as to why the crossed flag emblem is on the center cap.
