Vette(s): 78 Silver L48 4Spd, dual exhaust, GM vortec head, Edelbrock intake, Crane 210/216 degree x .420/.454 lift, 180 thermostat, MSD street fire
Has anyone used this top end kit on stock L48?

Need to do a valve job and replace cam, timing chain/gears. So why not aluminum heads and slight CR increase with 64 heads.

Never used their products, but I hear they have some pretty decent stuff.
I see Summitt Racing has the kit for $1600. Which isn't to bad for aluminum heads, cam, etc.
Are you going to run headers or stock manifolds with this setup?
Just a word of advice for cam breakin. Plenty of cam lube and use something like Delo 400 motor oil. It has a high zinc content which will help prevent wiping out the cam during intitial breakin. Todays motor oils are lacking in zinc content. Thats not good for flat tappet cams.
Good luck with your upgrade.
