transmission tunnel insulation

Hello again Corvette Lovers.  I am about ready to put my transmission back in and was wondering about these clips I have on the underbody of my car.  Does anyone have any experience with this undercar insulation?  Is it worth replacing, or is it just a magnet for dirt?

I replaced mine & it does help keep the noise & heat down & haven't noticed any excess dirt buildup.

When pulling things apart to replace the clutch discovered mine was a mess.  So rather than have the car tie up my buddy's garage waiting for a new one to arrive from a parts place decided to put everything back together without it.

"The Toy" gets driven "topless" 99% of the time so any extra noise and/or heat hasn't been noticed.

The original insulation above my tranny was all wadded/cramed up in a mess, so I replaced it. Also, replaced the insulation under the floor board and topped that off with new heat shields. No dirt or extra heat will come up through there anymore, not a dirt magnet for me. Guess it's just your own personal preference.   

I put a new one in mine, it really wasn't that difficult. Most of the old clips could be straightened back out to install the new tunnel insul. Replacement clips are available though.

I am going to replace that part.  I think in the summer months, even with the top down, I will be happy to keep extra heat from coming through the floor.  Since I have the tranny out anyway...
