Looking for some advice on fixing a transmission leak in my 76 corvette with a 350 transmission. It is leaking where the tube goes into the top of the pan. Does anyone know if this leak can be fixed by dropping the pan, taking out the filter & putting in a new o ring or something? Has anybody had experience with this? Any pearls of wisdom you can throw my way will be much appreciated!!!!
Thanks!

If you are refering to the fill tube, there is an o-ring on the tube. Just pull out the tube and replace it. To remove the tube you will need to remove the bolt holding the tube bracket to the rear of the engine/trans. Fairly easy one you reach the bolt.

Ken,
Thanks for the tip. I will see if I can pick up an o ring & give it a shot. Again, your advice is much appreciated!

At least we CAN replace the o-ring. Dodge likes to make theirs not repairable. They have a tight one-time fit, afterwhich, if it leaks because of a bump or removal, you get to spend lots of money to replace the tube.
