I think 2500-2700 ought to be good. Any higher is gonna be hard to drive on the street. A lot will depend on the cam, and when it starts making power. What rpm does/will it idle at in gear? A 3000> rpm stall converter is a pain to drive if you plan on driving a lot on the street, and useless if you do any highway driving, unless you're rich, and can afford the fuel!!

Vette(s): 1972 conv., sunfire yellow, blk interior, blk vinyl and convertible top. Off frame restoration with American Speed 383 stroker engine producing 500hp plus a 200hp NOS system. MSD ignition. Hooker super competition headers with chambered exhaust.
I have a 2300 stall with 500hp and 373 gears. It will idle at about 850/900 sitting at a stop light. Grandma could drive it. LOL
