I seen this type of article last year and decided to change my 10 year old tires. I gave the old ones to my brother, still a lot of wear on them. He put them on his truck and 2 of them blew out within 3 months. DON'T TRUST OLD TIRES.

So where is the code supposed to be imprinted? Inside or Outside? I can't locate any on the outside of my tires.

It's the DOT ID#.............Joel actually shows it better above.

You will normally only find the date code info on the inner side of the tire. Depending on if it is a whitewall/white letter, or blackwall, of course. Some manufacturers do put it on both sides. Just gotta look...

Took the wheel off to see what was up with the brakes. Tire serial # is BEVENX7335. So I guess my tires are from 1995, 1985 etc. Its funny, no cracks, no checking and lots of tread left. Oh well, see my post about brakes too.
