I can't locate any timing tab or gauge on my 1971 LS5. Any suggestion?

IIRC, you can buy a timing tab from the
Corvette aftermarket and mount it on the timing chain cover.

'71 would have a bolt on timing tab. Sometime around '68 or '69 they changed from the welded on tab to bolt on.
It would still be in the same area tho, either way. Driver side, about 2 o'clock(on the balancer). If yours is missing, you can buy one from most vendors.
