My timing cover tab fell off. It was tach welded on I think. Any suggestion on how to re-install it without having it tack welded on again. I am not going to remove the cover to reinstall.

It would have been spot welded to the cover originally.
You can buy bolt-on tabs...usually chrome ones, at parts houses, or someplace like Jegs, Summit, etc.

Some of those chrome tabs cover the whole damper and make it hard to see the timing line. I had one like that but found a 'correct' one at PepBoys.
