Well that didn't prove to be true so I'm going for a fourth rebuild and I really think I've found someone to do it right for once. The first two spun a rod bearing, the second one happened beating the sheriff to my driveway. I was chuckling as he blew by down the highway about 90 mph until I cranked it back up and it didn't sound so pretty good. Ouch The last (third) rebuild was last Sept. and it uses oil like crazy. I think the rings never seated.
This time I have a real engine builder with all the new digital machines and even an engine dyno. So hopefully this will be the last, but definitely not the cheapest!
I would like to use something other than my Edelbrock Performer intake. Anyone know if there's room for a Performer RPM under the stock hood ('71) or how to make it fit? Cutting a hole in the hood is NOT an option!LOL I'm also chuckin' those ProComp aluminum heads with 210 runners for something like Dart or World iron heads, possibly even AFR.
It should be ready in time to go to Eureka Springs Corvette Weekend Sept 30- Oct 3.....anybody else planning on going? We reserved our room before we left last year. We always have a great time.Thumbs Up
