Vette(s): 1971 350 270 hp roadster millivanilli red, black interior, white rag top, white hard top, I've had it 18 years and intend on giving it to my son for his 25th birthday(another 18 years from now)
OK, I just spent the good half of the evening looking for the best prices on brake caliper rebuild kits on the net. The best O ring kit for the money was $168.00 and some other hardware and fluids was another $40.00 so....... I'm going to give a step by step brake rebuild class for all those who are not that adept or haven't done it in a long time and want to save some money.I am also going to address some other rear end problems at the same time because I do want to drive to the meet in Ill. As soon as the parts get here I'll start ,so that gives me some time to get the shop in order (like finishing the insolation and sheet rock ) and get my wife to model parts as I rebuild them (she can rebuild a hell of a sterndrive on a mercruiser) so this should be interesting.

That sounds like fun..you going to do a you tube link?..or photos..I didn't do the o ring swapout..sounds like that's the way to go though..the old style are beyond cheap..but do tend to leak..are you going to get the calipers sleeved first?

They are sleeved already, I cheaped out 2 yrs ago and did it with GM factory parts......thats what happens when you drive it hard and let them sit then drive them hard and sit. They just got to be driven, plain and simple so I rebuild them every 2 yrs or so. I'll put a photo mag type feature together and my wife will show me how to do it

Vette(s): 1975 C3 Red, T-Tops, Black Interior. All I need is time and money! Getting there!
I have lifetime warranty calipers on mine from Autozone.   If they fail, they are replaced, no labor, for free.  No matter how many times they need done, the warranty is good.    It's been a few years but the front were $61 and the rear were $58. each.  Yes, they are stainless steel sleeves   Not shabby.
