1977, appears to have slight bow(forward) in sway bar.Am I correct to say this part should be straight? Perhaps someone towed car using this bar?

It should be fairly straight across. A small amount of "bow" wouldn't effect the operation. How far out does it sit?
Yeah...probably the victim of a tow strap...

With the radiator, shroud and all the other items now removed up front,it was easy to see a very mild bow in the sway bar.

If it's bowed out quit a lot, the end links that connect to the lower control arms will be out of whack(another tech. term!), and may not line up correctly. As long as the end links are not way off to the inside of the control arm, I think you're OK.

I have seen a very slight bow in some bars as they age, but as Joel says, it really won't bother anything as long as it's not rubbing on anything.

Was the car ever towed? Someone could have used the convienently hookable swaybar to yank on. Seen this almost done. Stopped the guy from bending it after he hooked onto the swaybar.
