Vette(s): Coupe 74 - 454 Drive it like you stole it!
Finally got some money to burn....

In the garage, I have a new chambered exhaust system, headers and aluminum radiator.  I also want to get the suspension refreshed.

I live in Tampa, so I want to bring the car to VanSteel for the suspension (he's only 45 minutes from here).  I'm not sure if he does exhaust work, but if not, there's an exhaust shop 5 miles from my house and I see Vettes all the time over there.  I spoke with him and he gave me a pretty good quote for the headers/exhaust install.

My question is : suspension or exhaust first ?

Is VanSteel still a sponsor ?

Hallo , money to burn ???? Whe have a  minister who actually  burned "sponsored" money ! , in the time of the militair Agusta helicopters affaire.... when it became to hot under his feets....

And what did his Belgium collegas ministers : yepyep, he was sent to the UK to study a degree at a universaty ( paid i suppose , because he burned ALL the money  ) and now he's back between his friends and ruling Belgium.... nice.

I should do the exhausts first, then you can make more noise driving to Tampa , YEAH , if not all your money is already burned trough the pipes !

I agree with Sarge.  Make it safer first and then make it sound good.

But if you can get the rear suspension done at the same time as the pipes that makes life a little easier.

Definitely...safety first. Besides, the exhaust is relatively inexpensive compared to suspension modifications or upgrades. Make sure it's done right. Exhaust work can be re-done pretty easily if you're not happy...not so easy with the suspension after it's done.

I agree with all of the above(well, almost all!! )
Do the susp. work first, and make sure it's what you want, before bolting/welding on a new exhaust.
Then, if you still have money to burn.....shoot me a P/M!!! Adams' Apple38782.8696180556

That's what I thought.

I'm trying to clear the garage that I'm renting, since I will be moving soon.  I was starting to look like a part store.

I spoke with Dan at Van Steel and the local exhaust shop yesterday.  Van Steel doesn't do exhaust work and I couldn't bring him my car for another 2 weeks.  He told me he wouldn't have a problem working around the exhaust if I get it installed first, so to get the ball rolling, I dropped the car at the exhaust shop last night.  They will also install the new radiator/hoses/belts.

Can't wait to hear it!

Suspension wise; so far I have my eyes on the Street & Slalom package with all new poly bushing.  And while being there; rebuild of the trailling arms.  Then I will be another 2 years putting money aside and cumulating parts for my next "wave".

Sorry Joel, I don't think there will be left overs...
