Hello friends - I have a 1980 and I am looking to buy a set of street legal slicks to go on my stock 15in rims.  Most of the places who make these are in California and I am in Michigan - the question they ask me is how much clearence I have,  BFGoodrich makes a pair that needs an extra 1/2 inch on the radius and another 3/4 inch for tread width.  Do any of you know if there is enough clearance in the wheel well to get those in without screwing things up or having to raise the rear end?

the radius increase is fine..

the width.. maybe..  you need to check the clearance of you existing tire to the ebrake cable and rear spring end..

Check with Mickey Thompson.  We have used many of their ET Street Slicks here at work and have had no issues just putting them on a second set of matching rims.  Even those these are DOT, don't think you can just use them all the time.  They are not fun to have on your car if the streets get wet or if it starts to rain.

Your wheel well is 11" wide if that helps out any. You may just have to relocate your parking brake bracket for additional room.
