I glad you got it. Tight enough is 0 lash with no tension. Once there is tension on the adjustment nut, you get the wear and bad center return. If you don't have the problem returning to center, and you did not crank the adjusting shaft down, but just took the play out, it's okay. My guess is you got it right.

Thanks Ken. One other Question on this issue. I didn't see a greese fitting on the Gear Box. Is there anyway to regreese this bugger other than taking it out and tearing it down? Just wondering ?

Yayyy ! That was so easy to do, adjusting the screw. Took the slop right out of my steering. Thanks for the tip !!!
