Is there a need/preference to change oil in our Corvettes each Spring when taking them out of storage (for those owners who live in the northern snow climates)? I don’t drive mine as often as I’d like in the summer (~500 - 700 miles) and am wondering is it really important to change oil each year? I have a 327 with 77k miles.
I appreciate your thoughts on this. Also what’s the thoughts on oil filter?

Most places I've read say to change it based on time or mileage, whichever comes first and the time period is one year. I prefer AC filters and get the tall ones. I've seen filter tests and wouldn't use Fram.

The top of the line Fram UltraGuard is as good as the others. I use a K&N for my annual change because of the nut on the bottom. Wix/Napa Gold, Mobil 1, Bosch. All are good.
Valvoline VR1 10w30 once a year for me. Plenty of ZDDP.

I used Wix filters on "The Toy" and "The Beast" and continue to on the "BLKBRRD". I also use them on the daily drivers and the motorhome.
Before storing any of the fun cars in the fall I always did an oil and filter change. I was told somewhere along the line it was best to have fresh oil in the crankcase before the winter sleep.

That is an excellent tip. More contaminates removed means less corrosion damage done to the internals.

The STP S8873 Filter is of real stout construction, which encourages me to use it, but filtering quality: I'm unsure of.
