Spring expanders in 1982 front springs. Are these a stock item?

Are these spring expanders a factory install? I gotta believe no?

No. Actually, they look like what used to be used to push a cast iron manifold apart so the bolts would fit. Sometimes these manifolds would contract when heated/cooled so the bolt holes would not line up. Most newer manifolds have a flange across all exhaust holes so they do not get out of alignment.

I’m replacing the shocks and the springs anyway. But, I was surprised to see these. At least I know not to put them back in. Thanks for the quick response.

How is the ride height? Can’t believe anyone would use them things. Had to be unsafe as he!!
