I am suspecting a couple of my spark plug wires not to make good contact anymore. One of my boots is broken too.
So I figure it is time to change the whole set.
A year ago, I installed a PerTronix Ignitor III and it worked well. I am wondering if I need to take this into consideration when shopping for spark plug wires.
Also, it makes sense to have low resistance wires but it looks like they never come braided. I need braided (radio).
I have been looking for a set that meets the following:
- fit a 1971 Corvette Big Block 454
- Braided
- Compatible with the Electronic Ignition (i.e. that let me have the full benefit of it)
PerTronix sells spark plug wires but none of theirs is braided.
Can't find one.
Any idea?

I don't remember if they're still available but Sorensen used to make spark plug wires that had a solid stainless steel conductor that was spiral wound around a carbon core and that was designed to suppress RFI.

Here's just one from a aftermarket Corvette supplier. I'm sure there are many others out there if you just use Google. Took me about 5 minutes.

Lectric Limited out of Bedford Park, IL has braided spark plug wire sets. Many of the aftermarket Corvette suppliers like Mid America, Ecklers, Bairs, Volunteer Vette also sell the same sets as you get from Lectric Limited. I would just check several of them to see who has the best price but most of them will come from Lectric Limited. I have seen them cheaper from several of our Supporting Vendors than you can actually get them from the source.
