I purchased my first C3 about a year ago. Fixed some of the issues with it and have been showing it. The car does quite well however one thing I keep getting tagged for is the red msd plug wires on the car. When I purchased the car it had an MSD HEI distributor which I will definitely leave in the car. My question is will original plug wires negatively effect the way the engine runs or should I just leave it alone? It is a 454 car. Thanks

I bought black Taylor wires from Jegs or Summit. Can't remember which.

If you have an HEI coil, the system is okay with original plug wires. If the system has a MSD coil the stock wires may not be able to handle the power and could start to short out or arc. Choosing the black MSD wires is a good option.

Thanks, that was what I was fearing. I think I will do that.
