I originally found my '71 in Ft Lauderdale (after looking on-line for several months). Before I bought it, I got a mechanic recommendation --- Gold Coast Corvette (954) 564-8388. Mechanics name is Zen Magda. He's oozing with knowledge about nothing but vettes. He spent over 4 hours checking out the car from nose to tail pipes & gave me an 8-page detailed report on the condition -- including compression results from all cylinders. (Cost me $250 but was well worth it.) Very good guy -- Soft spoken/straight shooter. Good luck! |rollysmile|

Vette(s): 1970 Convertible - blk/blk, 350 HP, nice original looking sleeper
Thanks to all for the replies. My car gets delivered tomorrow am. I cannot wait! Feel like I am 16 again and waiting to get behind the wheel. In retrospect I am glad I went with the '70. There seems to be a big drop off in power even in '72 not to mention the car was getting heavier. There was some work done to the engine (cam, carb, flowmasters) so I am expecting the 350/350 should go pretty good. I'll write in tomorrow after my first day of ownership. YEAH!!!

Thanks again for all the reccommendations.
