I finally got the new exhaust hooked up and it sounds great.  However, the fan is incredibly loud.  It's so loud it's almost comical.  Not the original fan but a flex fan.  Looks like I'll be changing it over...

Aluminum or fiberglass flex fan? I have an aluminum fan and it hardly makes a sound at all.

Hey Dan, aluminum.  Doesn't make much noise at idle but when I get it up in rpm's, maybe 1600-1700 (not sure how high as I'm out of the car), hold onto your hat!

Just to let you know this much louder than any other vehicle I have rebuilt.  This is the first time I have used this flex fan.

Just did a double check on my fan, it's a Flex-a-lite 17" with steel hub and flexible stainless steel blades.

Just a thought could the fan be backwards. I have a similar one and it is quiet not sure why it would be real noisy.

Very polite of you to ask that way...The first thing I said to my self was, "you idiot, you got  the fan on backwards".  Then once I checked and saw it was on right, I thought crap THAT would have been an easy fix.

My '73 BB with the stock clutch fan sounded extremely loud too.  So I replaced it with a DeWitts dual electric setup.
