very narrow siamese cylinder walls..
also they arent very good for high rpms..

All very true. It's not the choice for racing. It can be very satisfying for a street car. The overheating can be controlled, but is a bit more difficult. Not worse than our big blocks. Again, unless of course you are racing.
The longer stroke does cut high end a bit, but that's exactly what you have when you build a 383 stroker. It uses a 400 crank.

Leave the SB in. Get another vette that needs some work or one with out the engine. Then get to work.
