although i already saw someone else has started a shock topic i thought i best put my shock question in my own topic:

i have new (standard) ACdelco shocks on my vette. a new monospring from vbp ... and that came with the advice to put the ACdelco shocks on.
but now that i have made some rides i am not that happy with the shocks.
when some bumps on the road the rear feels a bit "wobbling" .
now here ( holland=koni country) everyone swear with koni.. but today a corvette specialist here told me i should go for kyb.
the difference between kyb an all other is that kyb absorbs the inward as well as the outward bounce .
is this true.. and does this make them better than other shocks ( atleast for my need.. getting my ride less "wobbling" when some bumps on the road
so actually question what makes a certain shock different from another brand shock ??
thank you

Did the wobbling start only after you installed the monospring?

think it was worse before. but then again.. my steel leaf spring had flattened out already although i haven't driven the car enough before restoration to make a compare

What spring did you install? 330lb.? 360lb.? The higher rated springs actually work better with gas shocks. I think Bilstiens are the best. You shouldn't get wobbling with any good shock. I would check other causes also. Bent rims, bad tires, u-joints, maybe other suggestions will follow.

Art, it was recommended to me by Vansteel if I ran the bb springs in the front and the higher rated spring in the back, that I should install Bilsteins on all four corners to "balance it out" for the best ride. That would be the Bilstein Sport Shocks. They said if I stayed with the small block springs up front and lower rated spring in the back I would still get the best results with the Bilsteins, but if budget did not allow, a good replacement would be KYB G-2 Shocks.

Vette(s): 1978 Silver Anniversary model. Original L82 engine, 700r4 trans, edelbrock intake, thorly headers, rack&pinion steering, mono rear and front spring, MSD 6A box
I'm suprised that VBP recommended the ACdelco shocks. When I bought my monspring (330) from them they recommended the KYB GR-2(VBP218 Rear)
