New rotors going on the front. I'm going to have to drill out the rivets on the existing rotors (unless there's an easier/better way?!?!). Is it smart/better to replace those rivets on the new rotors?? I'm not interested in NCRS judging, etc., only proper performance (including autocross). IF SO, is it hard to do yourself? I have an air compressor, but no special tools (yet!)

Thanks!

Hi Bill,

Drilling is the only way I know of to get those rivets out. When I replaced the brakes on "The Toy" I didn't bother replacing the rivets.

Right. The only way to get them off is to drill them. Don't worry about replacing them. The whole reason that they were put on in the first place was to keep the rotors in position while the vehicle went down the assembly line.

I agree, no reason to replace them.

Don't forget to clean all the rust and remove the burs and high spots around the rivet holes or you could end up with rotor runout. |smile|
