Hi all,

Planning on replacing the power steering hoses only. In doing this, will it affect the balance of the Power Steering Control Valve? Also, will there be air in the system that needs to be bled out like the brake system?

Thanks,

Kenny78

Replacing the hoses will not effect the valve. Make sure to take note of how the hoses fit onto the valve, as they do cross over at the valve. Just look carefully before removing them and you'll see what I mean....then put them back in the same orientation.

The system will pretty much bleed itself once you start it after finishing the hoses, and adding fluid. Turn the steering from lock-to-lock a few times, and check the fluid. Once you run it a while, the air will bleed out on it's own. 👍

A word of caution...if you start the car with the front end up in the air, do NOT put your hand thru the steering wheel to start it!! If the control valve is out of adjustment, it can beat the crap out of your hand! ALWAYS start the car with your hand outside of the steering wheel spokes if the front end is in the air.
