I picked up a set of Prothane Poly rear stabilizer link bushings for my 72 BB, as the stock rubber has about disintegrated. My simple question is has anyone installed these puppies? I can't seem to figure out how the poly part is pressed into the bar end hole, and the hole in link. |headscratch|

A straight press in with lube doesn't seem to work, and my next attempt will be to soak the poly part in very hot water prior to trying to press it in.

Anyone with the obvious answer that I'm missing??

I just did mine this weekend. My replacement end pieces were NOS rubber so it may be a little different than yours. They came with a metal inside surrounded by rubber with a metal outside. I had to take the whole bar out of the car and beat out the existing bushings with a hammer and screwdriver.|hammer| I was supprised how tight it was to get the new ones in. I tried to press in with a vise but no sucess. I ended up banging it in with a hammer but very gradual on each side of the bushing. This is probably not the correct method but it worked for me. I was surprised how much a difference it made in the ride stiffness on turns. I had already replaced the rubber to the frame pieces last year with almost no improvement on that change. |cool|

Don't soak the bushing in hot water. Put it in the freezer and shrink it. |smile|
