My car currently has this spring on it since 1988;
 
It now has a split in it so I need to replace it. The vender I use no longer sells this spring because he said they were prone to break and was suprised to see that mine lasted this long. He now sells one of these;
 
 
Any one know of any reason I sould not change to the one he sells now, after all, I can buy from any body else and am not commited to buying from him.

I would look at Vette Brakes and Products before making a decision. I have a #360 on my 69BB and the ride is very good and the height is just right as well. You may not need a BB spring so a #330 is available as well. The VB&P is a couple of bucks cheaper as well.
 
The spring that you referenced looks to be a TRW and some Vette owners have mentioned that they sit a little high even with the longer bolts.

I too would look at Vette Brakes and Products or Van Steel.  I also have a #360 on my '77 and it rides great.  I adjusted the bolts so it sits lower in the back than stock.  I've also heard numerous vette owners saw the TRW spring may make it sit higher than stock.

I do believe the first one is made by VBP and the second is a TRW. All the vendors sell the same thing for about thesame money so that isn't an issue. I just linked the Ecklers site because they had pictures. Other suppliers have better pricing as well but the nice thing about my vendors is he is local so I don't have to add shipping. VBP list a 5 year limited warranty where the TRW is only warranted for 2 years.

I got mine from VBP.  They are very helpful, they recomended the 330# for my vehicle and the ride hight was perfect. I'm totally safisfied.

Brian, you should be talkin' about $279 + shipping. Try those brake guys or ebay. I think lost in the 60's just got one new for 'bout $260. Look around.

Just put the new TRW spring on. Took me about an hour and a half to remove the old and install the new one. Not a bad job considering I was by myself.
