Rear engine seal.

Vette(s): 1970 T-Top350/350hp numbers matching 4 speed. It's a mess and 1970 Convertible 4 speed.
How hard is it to replace the lower rear engine seal on a 81? Is it something a wannabe mechanic can do?

Depends on what ya mean by "lower rear engine seal"!!
If you're talking about the rear main oil seal, it's pretty involved. If you're talking about the rear oil pan seal, that's a lot easier.

The corvette guy said it was it was the lower rear  engine seal. He said he would have to drop the oil pan to do it. He did not mention the oil pan seal.

Sounds like it could be the rear main seal. That's a pretty good job. There are a couple of other threads on this here somewhere...I'll look and see can I find them for ya. It will give you a better idea of whats involved.
